Why collage

A team day that's a little different.

Collage is relaxed, hands-on and surprisingly absorbing. Everyone cuts, arranges and glues their own artwork from a library of more than 200 books and vintage magazines, with an artist guiding the room. No experience or creative ideas needed.

Done the paint and sip already? Plenty of teams come to us looking for something new.

  • 01

    Gets people talking

Sharing ideas and creating side by side builds trust and open communication.

  • 02

    Sparks new thinking

Turning found images into new combinations builds creative thinking and decision making.

  • 03

    Suits every level

Great for all levels and abilities, beginners included, with time to create, unwind and connect.

  • 04

    A break from the screen

A few hours away from the laptop, making something with your hands.

  • 05

    Something to show for it

Everyone finishes their own A3 artwork, and the day ends with a gallery-style hang of the whole team's work.

Who runs it

Run by practising artists.

The Sydney Collage Society is a community of artists who work with collage, founded in 2015 by artist Kubi Vasak. Our artists exhibit their work, take on design commissions, and run workshops for galleries, councils, schools and teams.

Your workshop is led by an experienced collage artist who shows you the techniques, helps everyone along and brings the whole library of materials.

  2. 02

    Everyone makes

Pick your images from more than 200 books and vintage magazines, design a layout and assemble your collage, with guidance from the artist as you go.

  3. 03

    A gallery-style hang

The finished pieces go up together at the end, so everyone can share and talk about the team's work.
